"This is Salta"

thanks to pa, jen w, jmag, rachel, ma, and gee for your emails!  and thanks to sis. young for your book of mormon testimonies--i got them today! 

i thoroughly enjoyed talking to the fam yesterday!  it made me sooooooo happy.

i was transfered to güemes today.  my new comp is hna torres, from chile (santiago).  the first time i came to guemes, it was because hna torres was sick.  she´s doing better now.  it´s a little late to write a lot, and i DID just talk to y´all, so i´ll just send some pictures.  and we all know that those are worth a 1000 words.... :)

last p-day we went on the "teriferico", like a ski-lift ride up a mountain side in downtown salta.  you get an AWESOME view of the city.  the next few photos are from that. 

10 points if you can find the steeple of the stake center.  and the red steeple is from that old church (pictured here)that i took a photo in front of the other day.

eating alfajors at the top of the mountain.  an alfajor is basically like an argentine ding-dong (cookie-like substance, with dulce de leche in between and chocolate on the outside.  yummy)

anyway, this is salta! 

a verduleria on the way to church.  there aren´t many big grocery stores (like Albertsons), so most people buy their fruits/veggies in a stand like this.

my swanky tres cerritos pensión.  this is the "little" apartment we have behind the house of a family.  it´s big--three bedrooms, two baths, big kitchen.  oh yeuh.  swanky.
